Charging at home is the cheapest way to run an EV — but a normal socket is not a charging point. A domestic schuko isn't designed for hours at full load: contacts overheat, the cable suffers, and charging is painfully slow. Spanish regulations have a dedicated instruction for this, ITC-BT-52, which requires a dedicated circuit from the consumer unit with its own protection. That's exactly what we install.

What we fit. A 7.4 kW single-phase wallbox (most homes) or 11 kW three-phase if your supply allows it, with a dedicated line sized for the real distance to your space, its own MCB and a Type A or Type B RCD depending on what the charger requires. Where the unit supports it, we leave scheduled off-peak charging configured — on Spain's 2.0TD tariff, charging overnight makes a real difference to the bill.

Communal garage: you don't need permission. To install a charger on your own parking space you only have to notify the community in advance (article 17.5 of Spain's Horizontal Property Law) — the committee doesn't have to approve it. We prepare the written notification, run the cable through common areas in clean labelled trunking, and connect to your own meter. If you're a non-resident owner, we handle the Spanish paperwork end to end.

Do you need more contracted power? Often not. Many customers charge overnight at 3.7–7.4 kW without touching their contract, because the house barely consumes anything in the small hours. We look at your bill and usage pattern before recommending anything; if an upgrade genuinely is needed, we file it with Iberdrola / i-DE, including the boletín if the change requires one.

Solar combo. Charger + solar self-consumption is one of the best-value setups on the Costa Blanca: the car charges during sun hours on your own energy. If you have panels — or you're considering them — we integrate the charger with the inverter to prioritise solar surplus.

Time and price. A space close to the consumer unit is a half-day job; a long run in a communal garage takes 1–2 days including trunking and labelling. Fixed written quote from a photo of your consumer unit, the parking space and the rough distance — or a short visit where the case needs it. On national grants (MOVES-type schemes): they change from round to round, so we confirm what's current when we quote.
